    1. Double registration of birth: Sabi ng NSO, yong first na na-register na birth certificate, yon daw yong valid na birth certificate, at yong second ay invalid. Yong NSO ba ayaw ibigay yong first birth certificate? Nag-change ba ng policy kaya? Anong instruction nila? Icancel yong second? Sana you asked the form for cancellation, or how to cancel. Puede ka ring pumunta sa local civil registrar and ask how to cancel the second birth certificate. I'll get back if I find something.

  2. ang instruction po is to cancel ung first kasi ang gngamit ko po ngayon na details is ung second po.. d po ba makukuha ni mama ung claims dahil lang po sa birth cert ko?

    1. Child was instructed to cancel second birth cert:

  4. Hi Ms.Nora, just wanna know the difference between provident benefit & death claim. My father just died and been thinking of filing a death claim. Please help. Thank you.

I would appreciate your immediate response.

    1. US resident's Pag-ibig claim: Sorry wala pang online filing of claims sa Pag-ibig. In the past, Pag-ibig says they can process claims in 2 weeks, but processing can take up to a month or more, specially if you worked in different companies in different locations. Mention to them that you're returning to the US on a certain date, and request them to facilitate the processing. Where to file? Pag-ibig records are not yet centralized, so file at the branch where your records are -- it is the branch where your former employer remitted your contributions, and most likely the branch nearest your former employer's location. If you worked in Makati, it might be more practical to time your arrival at dawn here in Metro Mla, then file your claim at Makati Buendia at the first business hour, then proceed to Isabela. If you have a bank account here, you can ask them if your bank is accredited to receive your benefits, and if not, you have to go back to the branch to claim your check. Requirements: Application for Provident benefits (Pag-ibig form), Original and photocopy of Passport with Immigrant Visa/Residence Visa/Settlement Visa or its equivalent, original and photocopy of 2 valid IDs.

    2. By the way, if you have not claimed your SSS retirement benefit, you can also file your claim. Even if you're still working in the US, you can file your claim upon reaching 60 as you stopped working in the Philippines in 2009. A certificate of separation of employment is not required from members who have turned voluntary members or OFW.
From SSS: "For members residing abroad, any valid ID card/document issued by
foreign governments indicating foreign citizenship/residency/employment prior
to retirement (e.g., certificate of naturalization, foreign passport, driver’s license, residency card, and work permit) shall be accepted in the absence of document/s required if member is at least 60 years old but below 65 years old.
